LINDSAY TOTH

Hi, I'm Lindsay, I'm the Owner of Hi Five Fitness

My career in health and wellness began a long time ago with one word, 'Hockey!' I have competed on, captained and coached numerous sports teams in a variety of disciplines with much success. I became a Certified Personal Trainer Specialist with Can Fit Pro in 2004, the same year I earned my Radio and Television Broadcasting Diploma at Conestoga Collage.

Known for a lot of energy and a contagious personality, I moved to Cold Lake in 2005 to peruse my radio career. I also began work at the Cold Lake Energy Centre when it opened in 2008 picking up certificates in EZ Line, and Functional Exercise Training Progressions through Technogym.

In 2009 I started Hi Five Fitness to encourage physical fitness, build community and train to attain. Hi Five Fitness proudly hosted the Canada Day Fun Run every July 1st in Cold Lake since 2014 and helped develop the Run For Ronald McDonald House Charities Northern Alberta, featuring a 5k, 10k & ½ Marathon. In 2014 I took on the challenge of being the Chief Organizer in Cold Lake's 1st ever bicycle ride event, the Ride for Refuge, which has raised over $42,000 for the Cold Lake Food Bank.

I hold my Instructor Certification for Cycling through the Keiser M3 Foundations Program and get giddy about participating in cycling tours to support various causes. One of my favourites was riding over 1300km in Tasmania for literacy programs.

My favourite part of training people is building friendships and witnessing transformations. It should be fun. When people begin to have their own passion for activity and share that enthusiasm, I just love it! One of my clients hiked up Mt. Kilimanjaro and proudly send me his summit photo.

Everyone always gets a Hi Five at the end or even just for showing up!

Some of my newest designation are to work with our aging population and coach children's fitness. I've also received certification as a Pound instructor so we can totally Rock-out & Work-out!

My background is in sports but I train primarily for everyday active living. In my free time you might find me hiking, paddling on the water, at the beach or on an outdoor adventure. I'm passionate about visiting new places, experiencing culture and volunteering at the Food Bank. I also enjoy listening to music, playing violin, dancing like no one is looking, or so that everyone does. If I'm reading, it's non-fiction. And if I'm on the computer, I'm helping businesses get noticed. I Freelance doing Digital Marketing and at one time I hosted a mid-day show on 95.3 K-Rock. You know, that day-job stuff.

            GIVING BACK

When and where there is opportunity -count me in! It’s a pleasure to be able come along side individuals and groups to make a difference to people, this community and across boarders. There's no limit to what we can do. We may never know the total impact of our actions but if love compels us, let's go for it!

My hands and feet and heart have been involved in a number of areas. The obvious may be the selected charity for whatever race I chose to run but others include, Big Brothers Big Sisters Mentor Program – (Everyone Needs A Good Friend & Example!), The MS Walk & MS BIKE events, Minor Hockey & Female Bonnyville Jaguars, The Lakeland Relay for Life, Tim Horton’s Camp Day, Jump Start, The Purina Walk for Dog Guides, McHappy Day, Run for Ronlad, Ovarian Cancer Walk, Curtis Hargrove’s Run Across Canada, The Terry Fox Foundation, Ride for Refuge, Randy's Riders Ride to Conquer Cancer and the Bike for Bibles week long tours.
